Air France Unveils Winter Flights to Cape Town

Air France Unveils Winter Flights to Cape Town Air France is hoping that UK holidaymakers seeking cheap flights to South Africa this winter will take advantage of its new service to Cape Town from Paris.

Passengers taking one of the many cheap flights to Paris Charles de Gaulle will be able to fly direct to Cape Town from the airport, starting on 3 November. The flights will depart the hub three times a week and will utilise a Boeing 777-200 aircraft, with a seating capacity of 309. Of these, 35 seats will be available in the business-class cabin and another 250 in Air France's Voyageur cabin.

Cape Town is the most popular city among international travellers on South Africa holidays, thanks to its setting in an area of great natural beauty, its delicious cuisine, and the many activities that are available in the city itself and the surrounding area. The waterfront is especially popular, and it is here that you will find some of the best accommodation, whether it is cheap hotels or four-star establishments.

The airline's senior vice-president for Africa and the Middle East Pierre Descazeaux commented: "After Air France started operating its A380 on the Johannesburg route in February 2010, the launch of non-stop flights to Cape Town illustrates Air France-KLM's desire to continue its expansion policy in South Africa by offering customers 24 weekly services from its two hubs at Paris Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam Schiphol to South Africa – all from winter 2011."

Air France-KLM is adding a further three destinations to its international network throughout 2011, as part of its strategy to have a greater presence on the continent. With South Africa holidays already established as a popular choice for European travellers, the airline is setting its sights on other countries, with plans for cheap flights to Freetown in Sierra Leone, Monrovia in Liberia, and Bata in Equatorial Guinea.
