BA Reveals Half-Term Holiday Hotspots
Flag carrier British Airways said this week that cheap flights to New York remained the most popular of its October half-term destinations.
Revealing the locations around the world that were attracting the most interest among British travellers, BA said that the allure of the Big Apple as a place for a fascinating city break or the starting point for a North American road trip was as strong as ever. It noted that this month, New York holidays will also contain the possibility of joining the 125th celebrations of the unveiling of the Statue of Liberty – plus the chance to visit the iconic monument before it is closed for renovation work.
BA signed a three-way partnership with Spanish flag carrier Iberia and American Airlines this year, meaning that it now operates an impressive total of 17 cheap flights to New York from London every day.
Other popular destinations for the half-term break were Caribbean holidays, with cheap flights to Barbados and St Lucia selling well. The airline has expanded the range and frequency of services to its Caribbean bases, and British families have been taking full advantage of the extra choice.
BA went on to say that with Middle East holidays increasing in popularity it recommended cheap flights to Dubai. This was because the Emirate had unparalleled shopping opportunities, plus great autumn and winter weather and a good range of options on accommodation, with cheap hotels available alongside incredible four and five-star complexes.
There are also many great deals on cheap flights to the USA, the Caribbean and the Middle East available from other carriers operating out of the UK, such as Virgin Atlantic, KLM and Emirates.
