BA Switches Up Operations at Heathrow Terminals

BA Switches Up Operations at Heathrow Terminals Flag carrier British Airways revealed today that it is moving many of its operations at Heathrow between Terminal 3 and Terminal 5, effective from the end of October.

Passengers planning to take BA's cheap flights to Barcelona, Bucharest, Budapest, Larnaca, Madrid, Prague and Warsaw at the end of the month should take extra care that they do not find themselves unexpectedly at the wrong terminal by taking a good look at their booking information.

On 30 October BA cheap flights to Bucharest, Budapest, Larnaca, Prague and Warsaw will move from BA Terminal 5 to Terminal 3, while its flights to Barcelona and Madrid will move from Terminal 3 to Terminal 5.

BA also announced this week that it is relaunching its frequent fliers' Executive Club with the introduction of a new "Bronze" tier, aimed at bridging the gap between the current Blue and Silver tiers.

BA passengers can join the Executive Club free of charge, and go on to earn “Avio” points based upon their frequency of flights, how far they fly and which ticket class they fly on.
Blue card holders will only need half of the frequent flier points necessary for an upgrade to Silver to make it to Bronze level and reap the benefits, which include:

  • Check-in at business class level

  • Seat selection from seven days before departure

  • A 25 per cent tier bonus – equivalent to one-and-a-quarter Avios for every mile flown

  • A dedicated US or UK telephone number for their bookings and enquiries

  • Special Bronze tier luggage tags

  • BA managing director for brands and customer experience Frank van der Post declared: "Customers are at the heart of everything we do. We attach huge importance to their loyalty."

"The re-launch of the British Airways Executive Club, which now has over seven million members worldwide, is part of a massive £5 billion investment we are making across the whole airline on new aircraft, lounges, and technologies for our customers."
