Film Fun Awaits on Orlando Holidays
Orlando holidays are synonymous with theme parks – from the supremacy of Walt Disney World to its strong rivals SeaWorld and the Universal Studios Resort with its new Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the Florida holidays destination is a family paradise, and can boast gorgeous sunshine and beaches to boot.
Britons contemplating Florida holidays at the end of October who wish to make the most of the theme parks will be able to enjoy many special Halloween events, plus next month, visitors taking cheap flights to Orlando will also have an additional attraction – the city's annual film festival. This year it takes place between 19 and 23 October at the Plaza Cinema Café.
Organisers of the Orlando Film Festival have declared their intention to promote the concept of "independent film for everyone." Admission to all screenings is free, so there will only be the price of a coffee or a couple of beers to pay!
The policy is meant to help "support the cause of independent cinema and to promote culture and the arts in down town Orlando by exposing a wide audience to the unique and diverse stories told by independent film-makers from around the world," organisers elaborated.
The names of the titles that are actually being shown at the film festival are still being kept under wraps, but are due to be announced very soon. Advance bookings are strongly encouraged, as places in the café are limited.
Cheap flights to Orlando and other Florida destinations are widely available across the UK, with carriers such as Virgin Atlantic, BA and American Airlines.
