Happy Hour at Monarch Airlines
Cheap flights carrier Monarch Airlines revealed this week how sorely millions of Britons need a break, as part of the launch of its Happy Hour initiative.
The promotion means that customers who book their journeys with Monarch every day between midday and 2pm will be able to snap up the cheapest flights offered by the carrier. Monarch managing director Kevin George said that the airline was making the cheap flights available every day because a recent survey it commissioned had revealed that some 58 per cent of British workers entitled to a lunch hour took just 10 minutes or less before returning to their labours.
During their lunch breaks, women workers were found to be twice as likely to spend their time at the shops or buying online, whereas more men preferred exercising.
Mr George said that the Happy Hour cheap flights promotion was intended to persuade British workers to spend their lunchtimes scooping the cheapest fares and giving themselves a well-deserved break.
"It is important for people to be able to get away and relax to recharge their batteries and our special offer flights will give them the opportunity to do that. The Happy Hour service offers flights from as little as £18.99 and is timed around people's lunch breaks so we hope the UK’s workforce take a little more time for lunch to start planning their well deserved holidays."
Monarch Airlines offers cheap flights to Spain Gibraltar, Portugal, Cyprus, Turkey, Greece – and recently began flying to Egypt. Its services take off from Birmingham, London Gatwick, London Luton and Manchester airports.
