Hire a Car and Explore on Malaysia Holidays
Cheap car hire is the best way to explore the Langkawi archipelago on their Malaysia holidays, the country's tourism agency said this week.
The Langkawi archipelago is made up of almost 100 islands in the Andaman Sea off Malaysia's north-western coast. It is famous for its lush forests and sandy beaches, along with its breathtaking scenery – such as Gunung Mat Chinchang mountain, the peak of which can be reached by a thrilling cable car ride.
Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board UK and Ireland marketing manager Danielle Porter said that taking advantage of cheap car hire was the perfect method for making the most of Malaysia holidays and is consistently popular with visitors.
"It's so easy to drive in Malaysia - all of the signage is in English and cars drive on the left," Ms Porter said. "Lots of new hotel development is taking place in Langkawi at the moment, the recently opened Danna Hotel is very popular, as is the newly refurbished Tanjung Rhu resort."
Anyone on their Malaysia holidays at the moment has the opportunity to enjoy the colour and sights of the Pasir Gudang International Kite Festival, which continues until Sunday. Organised by the municipal council of the town of Pasir Gudang and the Johor State Government, the event showcases some of the most impressive kites from around the world, along with kite races and displays.
The best way to travel to Malaysia holidays from the UK is by taking advantage of one of the cheap flights to Kuala Lumpur, available from major airports with reputable carriers such as Etihad, Emirates, Saudi Arabian Airlines, and of course the country's flag carrier Malaysia Airlines shouldn't be forgotten.
