Jet2com Offers More Cheap Flights to Spain from Glasgow
Cheap flights carrier Jet2.com announced this week that it is planning five new Spanish routes from Glasgow Airport next summer.
It said that cheap flights to Barcelona, Ibiza, Lanzarote, Malaga and Murcia will begin operating in March. Cheap flights to Ibiza will begin in May next year, just in time for the island's famous clubbing season.
Tickets for cheap flights to Alicante, Faro, Majorca and Tenerife from Glasgow Airport next summer are already on sale, with increased capacity on the Alicante, Faro and Malaga services and an extra weekly flight to Tenerife.
The news follows the budget airline's decision to upgrade its website so that travellers can see all additional taxes and charges included from the start of the booking process.
Commenting on the new routes, Jet2.com managing director Ian Doubtfire said: "There's no doubt this is an exciting time for us at Glasgow airport. In just two months since we started flying from our newest base we have launched five new routes and also increased capacity to some of our most popular destinations – this demonstrates how committed we are to growing the range of great value destinations we offer to customers across Glasgow and the west of Scotland."
Mr Doubtfire said that the carrier had already sold 150,000 seats on its cheap flights from Glasgow next summer, including bookings for Jet2holidays' package deals.
Glasgow Airport commercial director Francois Bourienne added: "As expected, there has been huge demand for Jet2.com’s flights since its arrival at Glasgow Airport earlier this year and we’re delighted it has responded by launching five new routes. The airline is clearly committed to continually improving its service for customers and should be congratulated for doing so."
