More Cheap Flights to France from Southampton

More Cheap Flights to France from Southampton Passengers in the south of England seeking cheap flights to France this summer will soon have more choice than ever, thanks to a new route being launched by Eastern Airways.

The cheap fares airline will begin operating cheap flights to Dijon in the Burgundy region – a firm favourite for France holidays – at Southampton Airport from 6 June. The region is famous for its many vineyards and the wine that bears its name, not to mention Dijon mustard. But, there is also much more for the visitor to experience, such as the Musée des Beaux-Arts and the the Arquebuse gardens, which themselves contain the Museum d'histoire naturelle and the Pavillon de Raines.

Walking and cycling tours of Dijon's many historical and religious buildings are also available. As the historic capital of Burgundy, Dijon is perfect for cheap city breaks or as a base to explore the surrounding French countryside.

It is also possible to make a trip to Paris thanks to its connection with the super-speedy TGV train.

Announcing the new cheap flights, Eastern Airways' commercial director Kay Ryan said: "This new summer service from Southampton is part of our wider development plans in Dijon to provide a UK link to the south of England.  Southampton Airport is a popular gateway for heading to France and our service will save business and leisure travellers visiting the Burgundy region valuable time."

Southampton Airport marketing and communications director Jan Halliday added: "We are absolutely delighted that Eastern Airways has announced a new route from Southampton to Dijon starting next month."

"This new service will be the first time regular air links have been established between the two cities, and further grows the airport's status as the UK's top gateway to France."

Southampton Airport offers a host of routes to France, with carriers providing cheap flights to Paris, Bordeaux, Nice, Perpignan and other destinations.
