More Cheap Flights with Eastern Airways
Eastern Airways announced this week that will be extending its cheap flights to Dijon from Southampton Airport due to popular demand from travellers in the south of England.
France holidays to the Burgundy region have proved so popular with the carrier that it is continuing its thrice-weekly service to Dijon, which was launched in June, until 28 October. Eastern Airways' commercial director Kay Ryan commented: "We introduced the new seasonal service from Southampton as part of our wider development plans in Dijon providing an international link to the south of England."
"Flights have proved popular over the summer season and we’ve taken a decision to extend the service with it now running until the end of October. These services will then be reintroduced in April 2012."
Dijon holidays are popular among Britons who want to experience first-hand the delicious wines of the Cote d'Or and Bourgogne regions and bring back some of the famous Dijon mustard.
Eastern Airways began offering cheap flights to Dijon after it opened its first French base there last September, offering flights to Bordeaux and Toulouse. After launching another domestic service, to Nantes, the airline started offering cheap flights to Southampton – its only international service from the Dijon base.
Eastern Airways also said this week that will launch cheap flights to Norway from Glasgow this September. From the twelfth, the carrier will fly to Stavanger from the Scottish hub three times a week, with services aimed mainly at workers in the oil and gas industry – although holidaymakers are welcomed as well, with the airport's managing director pointing out that "the new route is fantastic news for leisure travellers who would like to visit Norway's spectacular fjords and waterfalls."
