New Summer 2012 Route from Bristol to Naples
Cheap flights specialist easyJet has announced plans this week that will be great news for anyone in the South West planning Naples holidays in summer 2012.
From 12 May next year, easyJet will begin operating cheap flights to Naples from Bristol Airport, leaving the hub thrice-weekly – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Seats will go on sale from Thursday 22 September.
The new summer route will bring the total number that the budget airline operates from Bristol to 43. It currently offers cheap flights from the airport to a number of popular destinations, including Amsterdam, Dalaman, Mallorca and Paris. Next summer will also see easyJet begin operating cheap flights to Dalaman and Naples from Edinburgh Airport.
Naples is a popular destination for Britons opting for Italy holidays, thanks to its status as the third largest city in Italy and the capital of the Campania region. With easy access to natural delights such as Mount Vesuvius and the islands of Capri and Ischia, it is close to the fascinating preserved ruins of Pompeii and has many attractions of its own, such as the lavish Piazza del Plebiscito in the city centre and the National Archaeological Museum.
EasyJet UK commercial manager Ali Gayward declared: “This new route to Naples will provide passengers from the South West with affordable access to one of Europe's most dynamic cities, which offers visitors a rich culture and access to nearby attractions.”
The aviation director at Bristol Airport, Shaun Browne, was nearly as effusive. Mr Browne said, “A scheduled service to southern Italy is a welcome addition to easyJet's summer programme from Bristol.”
