New York Prepares for Wild Halloween Celebrations

New York Prepares for Wild Halloween Celebrations Holidaymakers from across the world will be taking cheap flights to New York at the end of next month to take part in the city's justly celebrated Halloween spectaculars.

New York holidays are popular all the year round, but many Britons enjoy flocking to NYC for the many public events taking place in the five boroughs in and around October 31. There is something for everyone at these events – from the family that wants to enjoy a spot of dressing up and traditional American Halloween activities, to the hardcore horror film afficionado.

Perhaps the most popular among overseas visitors is the New York Village Halloween Parade, humbly hailed by its organisers as "the nation's most wildly creative public participatory event in the greatest city in the world."
This public parade is open to anyone and everyone, and the dress code is "bizarre", giving visitors the perfect opportunity to indulge their imaginations and dress appropriately – this year's overarching theme is the disembodied eye!

As well as the public participation, the parade also features puppet shows and a variety of live bands, plus street artists and dancers adding some real showbiz razzle-dazzle to the occasion. The parade takes place on Halloween from 6th Avenue south of Spring Street to between 18th and 23rd.

For younger revellers, New York holidays during Halloween are the perfect opportunity to enjoy some of the parties taking place in the city's most stylish bars and venues, with big events planned at such watering holes as Mars 2112, Revival, Capitale and the Union Bar.
