Ryanair Give Away Cheap Flights After Panorama Lies
Cheap flights promoter Ryanair has hit back at the BBC after its Panorama exposé was aired last night discrediting the airline.
Ryanair’s CEO Michael O’Leary was said to be furious after being refused the opportunity to have a live or unedited interview with Panorama. Mr O’Leary mocked the BBC’s “interest in freedom of speech” and said Panorama was only interested in editing his responses to “suit the Panorama agenda.”
“All you want to do now is ask the questions and then cut the answers,” exclaimed the king of spin, Air Marshall O’Leary. In a press release later on Ryanair’s website Mr O’Leary explained: “This refusal isn’t surprising given that Panorama had no real case or valid points which would stand up to interview.”
True to its promise, Ryanair launched 100,000 free seats for every false claim made by the Panorama programme, which led to the announcement today of 1.1 million cheap flight seats being given away on the Ryanair website. Ryanair refuted claims that staff were not given food during flights and that Ryanair cheats passengers with hidden charges.
Of the 11 false claims perhaps the most dubious is that Mr O’Leary is a bully, to which the man himself responded: “The whole world knows that O’Leary is a kind and gentle, caring and thoughtful, sensitive and saintly human being beloved by all Ryanair’s 6,500 people and its 66m passengers.”
Can 66,006,500 people really be wrong? What do you think of the Ryanair debacle? Let us know your thoughts below.
