Sheraton Opens New Hotels and Resorts in India
Travellers on Asian holidays will be able to enjoy luxurious hotel accommodation in India, thanks to a series of new acquisitions by Sheraton Hotels and Resorts. The hotel chain has revealed plans to promote stays at a new hotel in Udaipur, the so-called "City of Lakes".
The hotel complex was previously run by the Rockwood chain, but has been rebranded now as a Sheraton resort. It has 240 rooms and a range of world-class facilities, including four restaurants and bars, a relaxing spa and three beautiful gardens. The hotel itself is located on the banks of the Fateh Sagar lake.
The Udaipur Sheraton is just 3km outside the city centre, with easy access to the city’s many historical, cultural and natural marvels.
There are many cheap flights to Udaipur available from the UK, with carriers such as Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines and UK flag carrier British Airways. For the cheapest fares, travellers should book early and look for bargains online.
Starwood Hotels and Resorts India vice-president Don Elliott commented: "The debut of the Sheraton brand in Udaipur is indeed great news for international travellers and fans of India. Sheraton Udaipur Palace Resort and Spa captures the romance and splendour of the royal era with its magnificent architecture and grandeur."
Mr Elliott added that there are also plans to build five new Sheraton hotels for people on holidays to India. These will be situated in Amritsar, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Mysore and Visakhapatnam.
Even if travellers cannot stretch to the luxury of a Sheraton resort, there are masses of cheap hotels available in India currently.
