Top Historical Hotels Ranked by trivago
When travelling abroad for USA holidays or breaks in Europe, people often like to find cheap hotels, or at least accommodation that represents excellent value.
However, there is also another reason to seek out certain hotels – their cultural connection with their city. Hotel review website trivago.co.uk published a list today of the ten finest historic hotels in the USA and Europe, emphasising their unique architecture and historical associations.
The site promised that the hotels featured would “pamper their guests with first class service and a historical charm.” When people are looking for the best accommodation for their holidays in Europe, trivago recommends the Palace Beau Rivage, in Lausanne, Switzerland.
This five-star hotel boasts an amazing view of Lake Geneva and the Swiss Alps and has held on to its beautiful architecture, dating back to its foundation in 1861. It is frequently visited by heads of state and celebrities – a tradition which dates back over 150 years.
The Hotel Copernicus, in Krakow, Poland is also highly rated, thanks to its status as an authentic link with the European Renaissance. The restored rooms, with their high ceilings and dark wood furniture are lavish, while the hotel itself is just a stone’s throw from the city’s wealth of historical and cultural sights.
For people considering USA holidays, Washington DC’s top hotel The Willard receives great praise as “the pinnacle of American comfort and style,” with its opulent rooms and luxurious spa and health treatments. The Willard, which can be found just a few blocks from the White House on Pennsylvania Avenue, first opened in 1818 and was the place where Martin Luther King wrote his famous “I have a dream” speech.
